Bob May has developed a mouth blown Uilleann Pipe
chanter made from Delrin with reeds fabricated from
polystyrene. Although it's still in the expermental stages,
this 'reed driven' instrument can play two full octaves.
You can view pictures and listen to sound files.

Here is the assembled chanter with with an integral tenor
drone. The flexable surgical tubing allows the piper to
to play on-the-knee traditional style.
